My garden is 7 metres wide and your Artificial Super Grass is only available in 2 metres and 4 metres wide, what do I do?
This isn’t a problem, in this situation Artificial Super Grass would recommend purchasing 2 X rolls of 4 metres wide product which would give you 8 metres wide in total. By forming an Artificial Grass joint down the middle of your garden, this would ensure you have enough grass to cover the 7 metres needed, allowing plenty of surplus at the edges for trimming in.
How do I join Artificial Super Grass together?
Once a suitable sub-base has been prepared:
Lay your 2 rolls of Artificial Super Grass side by side making sure the directional pile on both rolls are pointing in the same direction. Once you have both rolls in place so there is a 2mm gap between the latex backings on both rolls of artificial turf, peal both edges back to reveal the weed barrier membrane. Roll out our SUPERTape equally down where the joint will be formed and fix with galvanised nails through the sub-base. Now apply our SUPERStick adhesive to the SUPERTape using a silicone gun and spread using a spatula.
Approximate coverage, 1 tube of SUPERStick adhesive = 4 linear metres of SUPERTape.
Gently fold both rolls of Artificial Super Grass back down, easing the latex backings towards one another whilst taking care not to trap the pile, loosely fluffing the surface as you go.
Does rain water puddle on Artificial Super Grass ?
No, if the installation has been carried out correctly there will not be any visible water puddles. All of our Artificial Super Grass has been specifically designed with our built in superior SUPERDrain properties and holds a ‘British Standards Porosity Certification BS7044’. Drainage holes are pre-punched into the latex backing upon manufacture, this feature makes your Artificial Super Lawn permeable and it therefore allows excellent drainage qualities. However if the current garden is susceptible to flooding, upon installation it will certainly need a ‘MOT Type 1 Hardcore drainage sub-base’ which is explained on our ‘INSTALLATION GUIDE’ and ‘INSTALLATION SERVICES’ Pages. It is worth mentioning that it should only be current free-draining lawns that can be installed without a hardcore drainage sub-base.
My garden is prone to flooding; can I still install Artificial Super Grass?
Yes, Artificial Super Grass can be installed but it is essential that the correct sub-base is adhered to. If you have had previous problems with your garden flooding then you would certainly have to take a look towards installing our ‘GOLD PROFFESIONAL’ package. This sub-base system uses a ‘MOT Type 1 Hardcore to allow better drainage’ which is explained on our ‘INSTALLATION GUIDE’ and ‘INSTALLATION SERVICES’ pages. If preferred you can also install this system yourself following our DIY ‘Easy Installation Guide’.

Which way should I lay my Artificial Super Grass?
Artificial Super Grass can be laid any way you feel is right but we recommend laying it the best way that suits your garden shape. When measuring up for your new Artificial Lawn we would always try to keep the joints down to a minimum; if at all possible measure the lawn in the best way which would avoid any joints. Our Artificial Super Grass is available in 2 metre and 4 metre widths therefore you would use the same measuring method as if you were measuring for a new carpet in your home. It is important to note that your Artificial Super Grass has a directional pile so remember this when you are measuring up for quantities. If you are requiring a joint in the middle of your Artificial Lawn it is imperative that the directional pile continues to run in the same direction, please see our easy DIY ‘Installation Guide’ for more information.
What do I use at the edges of my Artificial Super Grass?
You would edge your Artificial Super Grass exactly the same as natural grass. Flagstones, sandstone, decorative gravel, sleepers, fencing boards, or timber all do a suitable job of forming a finished edge to your new Artificial Lawn. Alternatively, where Artificial Grass meets soil we have our uniqueSUPEREdge system which when installed forms a perfectly neat divider to distinguish a perfect flower border, fix to the sub base using our Super Galvanised U-Pins take a look at our ‘PRODUCTS PAGE’ for details.
How do I cut my Artificial Super Grass when installing?
It is recommended to always cut your Artificial Super Grass from the back using a sharp cutting knife (Stanley knife). It is important to always keep renewing your blade to allow premium quality cuts, always wear suitable gloves and most importantly take your time.
Does my Artificial Super Grass require infill?
No it doesn’t, although if you prefer you can use an infill product (e.g. Kiln dried sand or silica sand) to weigh the Artificial Grass down. Here at Artificial Super Grass we prefer to secure the grass by using our own Artificial Super Grass U-Pins, we recommend fixing internally every 1 meter squared, these are available in 3 different styles which are all are galvanised and they are available on our ‘PRODUCTS‘ page.
Will my Artificial Super Grass move once installed?
No it won’t, providing your sub base has been installed using the correct methods and you use our Artificial Super Grass U-Pins fixed internally every 1 metre Square it will not move. If your project consists of a ‘GOLD PROFESSIONAL’ or ‘SILVER DELUXE’ installation with a tantalised timber perimeter then fix every 20cm using Green timber screws. If your project is a ‘BRONZE STANDARD’ installation without the tantalised timber perimeter, then simply fix around the edges of the grass using Artificial Super Grass U-Pins at 30cm centres.
Can I install my Artificial Super Grass on top of old existing lawn?
No we do not recommend this; the old grass will rot down leaving your new Artificial Super Grass with a very uneven bumpy appearance, it would not look good at all. You would always be better to take a look at our ‘STANDARD BRONZE’ easy ‘Installation Guide’ if you are considering doing a budget DIY project.
Can my Artificial Super Grass be laid onto slopes?
Yes it is fine to install Artificial Super Grass onto slopes. Slight gradient slopes of 15 degrees or less are fine for Artificial Lawns and foot traffic. Installing Artificial Grass to gradients of 16 degrees or more are really only recommended for ornamental covering purposes, saving on issues of having to use a lawnmower or grass strimmer in tricky areas. These higher gradient areas are not really recommended for foot traffic as the Artificial Grass may become slippery in wet weather and accidents may occur. It is also worth mentioning that the addition of our Artificial Super Grass U-Pins fixed on any slope at 1metre squared intervals regardless of gradient is recommended; this will ensure movement in the Artificial Grass doesn’t occur.
Can I park my car on my Artificial Super Grass?
Yes it is fine to park a car on your Artificial Super Grass provided you have installed the ‘MOT Type 1 Hardcore sub-base’ correctly. This installation method is explained on our ‘INSTALLATION GUIDE’ and ‘INSTALLATION SERVICES’ pages.
It is important to note….Should you be using a vehicle on your artificial lawn, a minimum of 100mm of ‘MOT Type 1 Hardcore sub-base’ should be installed prior to fitting your artificial grass!
Alternatively you can install your Artificial Lawn to a solid concrete base which will also be adequate; all solid concrete bases must have sufficient drainage prior to installing any Artificial Super Grass products. Please be aware that petrol and diesel spillages may weaken or damage the Artificial Grass fibrous blades or latex backing. It is advised that you should brush the pile of your Artificial Super Grass when a car has been parked on it for a period.
Can I install a rotary washing line on my Artificial Super Grass?
If you are requiring a rotary washing line installed it is recommended to form a concrete pad with the ground spike installed prior to your Artificial Super Grass installation. It is not recommended to fit a rotary washing line after your Artificial Grass has been installed, this may compromise theSUPERSupressor weed barrier membrane and the sub base may become disturbed. If the rotary washing line is installed in the correct way using a concrete pad you shouldn’t have a problem with future ground movement.
